Special Needs Trusts: We help disabled adults, disabled children and their families preserve MaineCare eligibility (Maine Medicaid) and SSI by establishing Special Needs Trusts.  We help parents provide for their disabled children or other disabled relatives in their Wills while preserving the child’s or adult’s benefits.  We also collaborate with personal injury attorneys and divorce attorneys to help their disabled clients protect settlement funds while maintaining the clients’ benefits. Real estate: We help clients who are buying, selling or transferring real estate and businesses by: negotiating purchase and sale agreements, preparing deeds, searching titles, conducting closings, transferring family real estate, and issuing title insurance. We also help clients who are in disputes over real estate, such as boundary line disputes, by negotiating, providing representation in court, and acting as mediator or neutral outside of the courtroom. Divorce and family law: We represent clients facing divorce or separation who present issues involving child custody, paternity, marital property division, and spousal support (alimony), We assist clients in both traditional and non-traditional families, including unmarried and same-sex couples. We act as guardian ad litem on behalf of children in family matters. We act as neutral mediator to help people resolve disputes outside the courtroom.
