Attorney Daniel J Eccher

Daniel J. Eccher, Esq. is the Managing Shareholder at Levey, Wagley, Putman & Eccher, P.A. Dan's favorite problem to solve is helping clients figure out how to afford long-term care while having something left for their family. 

He also enjoys helping couples establish estate plans such that their children will be provided something upon the couple's death. Dan has a particular interest in estate planning for members of the LGBTQ community, as well as special needs trusts. Dan has been in legal practice in Maine since 2014. Prior to joining the firm, Dan was in solo practice in Waterville, Maine. 

Before opening his solo practice, he served as an Assistant Attorney General at the Maine Office of the Attorney General, in the Health and Human Services Division, where he appeared in Probate and District Courts. Prior to that, Dan was an associate at Weeks & Hutchins, LLC, where he handled a variety of matters, including estate planning, real estate transactions, and District Court litigation.

Dan was recognized by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court in 2015 for his pro bono work. Upon his graduation from the University of Maine School of Law, he received the Pro Bono Publico award for his work with the Volunteer Lawyers Project. Dan currently volunteers for a number of non-profit groups. A graduate of the Waterville Public Schools and Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, Dan now lives in Oakland, Maine, with his young family. In his free time, Mr. Eccher enjoys singing, bicycling, and gardening.

Our office is in Winthrop, Maine, located approximately 10 miles from Augusta, and 17 miles from Lewiston. We are also available by appointment to meet in the Brunswick/Topsham area and the Waterville area.
